Possible interactions: Bromalein may increase the absorption of antibotics. It may enhance the effects of blood thinners. It may raise the risk of bleeding. Patients taking blood thinners such a Coumadin, Warfarin, Plavix, Aspirin, should consult their Physician. Bromalein may increase the sedatives action.

Side effects: Those with pineapple allergies should not take Bromalein. May cause upset stomach or diarrhea. Sometimes taking crackers or light food has helped minimize the size effects without hampering the effectiveness of the Bromalein.


Chymotrypsin is a digestive enzyme belonging to the a group called the serine proteases. It is converted to an active enzyme called trypsin. It performs proteolytic beakdown of proteins and polypeptides.


Trypsin acts as an enzyme to degrade proteins referred to as proteolytic enzymes. It breaks down proteins into peptides and ammino acids. Trypsin continues the breakdown as an enzymatic activity. The process is referred to a proteolysis. Proteins broken down or digested by trypsin is referred to a trypsinized. This breakdown is necessary for absorption in the small intestine.


Pepsin is another enzyme naturally ocurring in the stomach. It is referred to as a protease or protolytic enzyme breaking down proteins into peptides into amino acids for absorption.
