Systemic enzymes are throughout the body and many times the body needs a boost in the enzymes due to trauma or inflammation or depletions of minerals within the body. The key enzymes are Bromalein, Chymotrypsin, Trypsin, Pepsin. Listed is the function and purpose of those enzymes.
Bromalein is a mixture of enzymes found in pineapple. Bromalein has properties in the enzymes to reduce swelling and reduce muscle soreness. It contains materials which fight pain and swelling. Bromalein has been used to reduce inflamation and swelling after surgery, to treat sinuses, treat bowel conditions such as ulcerative colitis, relaxing muscles, helps in preventing clots, helps improve absorption of antibodies, helps relieve soreness after exercise.
Bromalein has been effective in reducing inflammation from injuries. It may be useful in reducing swelling, brusing, healing time and pain after surgery and physical injuries. It has proven effective in reducing inflammation from tendonitis, strains, sprains, and other minor injuries. Bromalein has anti tumor qualities. Precautions in using Bromalein: stop 2 weeks prior to surgery as it may delay blood clotting time. Patients with bleeding disorders, liver or kidney disease should not take Bromalein.
Possible interactions: Bromalein may increase the absorption of antibotics. It may enhance the effects of blood thinners. It may raise the risk of bleeding. Patients taking blood thinners such a Coumadin, Warfarin, Plavix, Aspirin, should consult their Physician. Bromalein may increase the sedatives action.
Side effects: Those with pineapple allergies should not take Bromalein. May cause upset stomach or diarrhea. Sometimes taking crackers or light food has helped minimize the size effects without hampering the effectiveness of the Bromalein.
Chymotrypsin is a digestive enzyme belonging to the a group called the serine proteases. It is converted to an active enzyme called trypsin. It performs proteolytic beakdown of proteins and polypeptides.
Trypsin acts as an enzyme to degrade proteins referred to as proteolytic enzymes. It breaks down proteins into peptides and ammino acids. Trypsin continues the breakdown as an enzymatic activity. The process is referred to a proteolysis. Proteins broken down or digested by trypsin is referred to a trypsinized. This breakdown is necessary for absorption in the small intestine.
Pepsin is another enzyme naturally ocurring in the stomach. It is referred to as a protease or protolytic enzyme breaking down proteins into peptides into amino acids for absorption.
Turmeric has been used as a powerful anti inflammatory for centuries. Curcumin is thought to be the active ingredient in turmeric. It has been effective in treating inflammatory bowel disease. Research has shown it to help intestinal function. Reduce swelling in the mucosal thickening of the intestine wall. It reduces the NF kappa B.
Curcumin is a powerful anti oxidant neutralizing free redicals which can cause painful joint and inflammation and damage the joints. The anti oxidant and anti inflammatory effect is the reason why people receive pain relief. Research has demonstrated its effectiveness in inhibiting chromosome damage, inhibit formation of the inflammatory chemical cycloxygenase 2 (COX 2).
Listed is further research of possible effectiveness of Turmeric
Cardiovascular-inhibits oxidations of cholesterol. Supports cardiovascular function.
Brain-boost cognitive function. Protects and regenerates brain cells. Protection against Alzheimers-helps prevent amyloid buidup.
Boost detoxification of the body. Supports weight loss. Promotes healthy inflammatory response-fight inflammation.
Bioflavonoids provide much of the color and the flavor in fruits and vegetables. It is used as an alternative medicine.
Listed are the healthy benefits of Bioflavonoids:
Specifically Rutin helps in reducing swelling, acts as an anti inflammatory, inhibits platelet aggregation thereby improving circulation, helps in healthy capillaries, and is an antioxidant.
WHITE WILLOW BARK
White Willow Bark has been used for centuries to relive pain and inflammation. White Willow Bark has been used for headache, muscle pain, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, gout, fever, and colds.
The active ingredient is salicin which is a precursor to aspirin. White Willow Bark has fewer side effects than aspirin. It has the anticoagulant effect as apirin but is not as great nor long lasting as apirin. It has fewer side effects and is safer to use than aspirin. White Willow Bark is a COX inhibitor by blocking the prostaglandin release. Interactions and precautions are similar to aspirin. It can enhance blood thinning medicines and may have GI issues.
